The Melville-based personal injury law firm of Leitner Varughese welcomed Nicholas Warywoda as a partner and changed its name to Leitner Varughese Warywoda to reflect the addition.


Warywoda, a trial attorney who focuses on catastrophic injury cases in the areas of personal injury, medical malpractice, civil rights and nursing home negligence, was most recently a partner at Raskin & Kremins in Manhattan.

Over the course of his career, Warywoda has obtained million-dollar verdicts and settlements in all areas of personal injury law, including car accidents, slip/trip and falls, construction accidents and medical malpractice. He obtained a $7.89 million verdict in a civil rights and medical malpractice case against a doctor and municipality for the family of an Iraqi war veteran who committed suicide while in jail. He previously won an $8.5 million verdict in a medical malpractice and products liability case, as well as a $1.937 million verdict in a medical malpractice case involving a failure to diagnose post-surgical infection. More recently, Warywoda obtained a $1.4 million dollar verdict for a woman who was struck by a car while she was crossing the street.
